Our story began on 31 August 1951 when the first Beetle rolled off the production line in Kariega (then Uitenhage), heralding the beginning of the largest German investment in Southern Africa. Our heritage is not only defined by iconic vehicles like the Beetle, Kombi, Citi Golf, Polo, and Vivo, but by the people we have empowered and the communities we have uplifted.
As the second-oldest vehicle brand in South Africa, Volkswagen is a cornerstone of automotive manufacturing excellence and a responsible corporate citizen committed to South Africa. With over a century of coffee roasting legacy, South Africa’s oldest coffee roasters, Mastertons, collaborated with Volkswagen in creating this one-of-a-kind limited-edition coffee blend. Using only African-sourced coffee beans, the People’s Blend is a reminder that the best moments are made for sharing - here’s a sip to the future!
